We are now looking for a Senior Verification & Test Engineer who will take broad ownership of verification and testing across development projects and product maintenance. This is an influential specialist role for an experienced engineer who wants to combine strategic responsibility with practical engineering. You will help shape our verification approach, strengthen test automation, and work closely with development teams in Sweden and China.

The Role

As Senior Verification & Test Engineer, you will lead the planning and execution of verification activities for medical devices and consumer products. You will translate requirements, risks, and intended use into robust verification strategies, plans, and evidence that support product decisions and regulatory compliance. You will be a senior technical partner to project managers, product managers, developers, quality colleagues, and engineering teams across locations. The role includes guiding ways of working and raising test maturity, but it is not a people-management position. You will remain close to the products and contribute hands-on where your expertise creates the greatest value.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and lead verification activities within development projects and product maintenance, from planning through reporting and closure.

• Create and maintain verification strategies, test plans, specifications, protocols, procedures, and reports.

• Ensure traceable verification against requirements, risk controls, applicable standards, and intended use.

• Review requirements and testability early in development, identifying gaps, risks, and opportunities before they become costly.

• Evaluate and communicate results, conclusions, deviations, and residual risks to project stakeholders, providing clear recommendations for decisions.

• Develop and continuously improve verification methods, tools, templates, test environments, and ways of working.

• Drive test automation initiatives and make pragmatic choices about what to automate, how, and when.

• Act as a technical mentor and sounding board for colleagues, sharing knowledge and supporting consistent, high-quality verification practices.

• Collaborate closely with engineering teams in Sweden and China to enable effective verification throughout the product lifecycle.

• Lead or support root cause investigations, corrective actions, and verification following product or process changes.

What you bring

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Medical Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Several years of relevant experience in verification and testing within product development, with the confidence to independently lead complex verification activities.

• Strong experience creating and reviewing verification strategies, test plans, specifications, protocols, and reports.

• Experience connecting requirements, risk management, test coverage, and objective evidence in a structured and traceable way.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with sound engineering judgement and a pragmatic approach.

• The ability to communicate complex findings clearly and influence decisions across functions and locations.

• Excellent written and spoken English.

• Experience that would be valuable

• Experience from the medical device industry or another regulated product environment.

• Knowledge of MDR, ISO 13485, IEC 60601, IEC 62304, risk management, or comparable standards and frameworks.

• Experience with test management tools such as Xray and with DevOps-based development environments.

• Experience with test automation frameworks and automated test systems, such as JUnit or Robot Framework.

• Experience testing embedded systems, hardware, software, mobile applications, cloud services, or connected products.

• Experience working in international, cross-functional development teams.
